Even the RSS has told him firmly but politely that he should restrict himself to the role of a friend, philosopher and guide. So there are no more options left for Advani. Even his acolytes like Venkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar have fallen in line and have accepted the bitter reality.
So can we conclude that finally Atal-Advani era is over so far as BJP is concerned? The question may sound a little shocking to the political analysts and commentators who have witnessed the evolution of BJP from a mere 2 MP party to a party leading the ruling combination in India.
Everybody knows that Advani played the pioneering role in the spectacular growth of BJP. But as we say everybody's time comes to an end. And obviously, Advani seems to have reached that stage where he has to make way for Modi.
Media reports also suggest that Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi will not be part of Modi's election management committee given the fact that they are too senior in the hierarchy to serve under Modi.
