Akhilesh very strongly feels towards environmental causes. So much so that Akhilesh has his profession on his official bio data drafted as Agriculturist, Engineer and Political and Social Worker.
Akhilesh believes in in-person interaction with general public. He entered mainstream politics at an early age of 27. He contested election and won from Kannauj constituency in 2000. In 2009 Lok Sabha elections Akhilesh won from two constituencies, Kannauj and Ferozabad. He decided to keep Kannauj and vacated Ferozabad seat for which his wife Dimple later fought for.
For winning the assembly elections Akhilesh had to work hard and put issues like law and security on priority. He crossed approximately 10,000 kms holding 800 rallies in Uttar Pradesh to woo his vote bank once again.
