Hundreds of BJP supporters are also travelling to India for the campaign as "the voice of NRIs has a greater impact on the people".
Like its parent party's "Chai pe Charcha" (Discussion on Election 2014 over tea) programmes with BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, the OFBJP recently organised a "NaMo Chai Party" in Washington DC.
The Indian National Overseas Congress, USA, too is using social media, articles, media advertisements, email and telephone calls to spread the party's message.
But party president George Abraham acknowledges "there is a lot of apathy" among the people.
Due to "anti-incumbency sentiment", the "Congress hasn't been very successful in communicating the accomplishments to the people", Abraham told IANS.
