India TV and C-voter opinion poll: Modi all set to score a hat-trick in Gujarat polls

New Delhi, Nov 20: In an opinion poll conducted by India TV in association with C-voter, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi looks all set to romp home third time in a row with almost two-third majority.According to this opinion poll, conducted between Oct 22 and Nov 12, BJP is expected to get 120 seats out of a total of 182 assembly seats. On the other hand, the main opposition party Congress is expected to get 55 seats while others are expected to get 3 seats only.In terms of gains and losses, BJP is expected to gain 3 seats compared to last time while the Congress is expected to suffer a loss of 4 seats compared to last time. Others are expected to gain one more seat compared to last assembly elections.In terms of swing of votes, BJP seems to be gaining a total of 48 percent votes. Congress, on the other hand, seems to be gaining a total of 38 percent of votes. Other parties are expected to gain a total of 14 percent of votes.Let's have a look at region wise projections of this opinion poll conducted by India TV in association with C-voter:Central Gujarat:Out of a total of 63 seats in Central Gujarat, BJP is expected to get 36 seats, Congress 26 while others are expected to get 01 seat. These figures suggest that BJP will get 4 more seats in central Gujarat this time while Congress will lose 3 seats. Others are expected to get one more seat in central Gujarat this time.In terms of vote percentage, BJP is expected to get 49 percent of votes, Congress 38 percent while other parties are expected to get 13 percent of popular votes.South Gujarat:Out of a total of 33 seats in south Gujarat, BJP is expected to get 22 seats, Congress 10 and others 1 seat. It means BJP will gain 2 seats this time in south Gujarat while Congress will lose 1 seat compared to last time.In terms of vote percentage, BJP seems to be gaining 50 percent of votes, Congress 37 percent and others 13 percent.Saurashtra:Out of a total of 54 seats in Saurashtra, 38 seats looks to be going to BJP, 12 to Congress and 4 to others. It means BJP will lose 3 seats in Saurashtra this time compared to last time. The news is equally bad for congress as the party is expected to lose 1 seat from the region compared to last assembly results. Other parties will be the main beneficiaries of this decline in fortunes of both BJP and Congress as they are expected to gain 2 seats compared to last time. In terms of vote percentage, BJP is expected to get 47 percent of votes, Congress 38 percent while 15 percent of votes appears to be going to other parties.North Gujarat:Out of a total of 32 seats, BJP is expected to get 24 seats, Congress 7 seats while others are expected to get 1 seat only. A comparison with last assembly results makes it clear that it's a case of no gain, no loss for BJP in North Gujarat this time as it is again expected to win 24 seats. Congress, on the other hand, is expected to lose one eat while other parties are expected to gain 1 seat.In terms of vote percentage BJP will get a total of 47 percent votes, Congress 39 percent while others look set to corner 14 percent of popular votes from the region.
