"Moreover it is also stated that a person namely Sh. Sher Singh standing by the side of Sh. Masood, in the photograph has died long back."
The letter says that though the EC was yet to take cognisance of the BJP memorandum against Imran Masood, "the manner in which it has been highlighted by media" and the BJP leaders, is itself a violation of Model Code of Conduct.
"This statement has been deliberately made to hit and malign Congress Party and its candidate, which has also been given wide publicity in the media", the letter said.
