B'day Spl: Hema Malini - from 'Dream Girl' to BJP MP from Mathura

New Delhi: In an election that will be largely remembered for a 'Modi wave' that swept the country especially UP, the 'dream girl' Hema Malini emerged victorious from Mathura parliamentary constituency in 2014 Lok Sabha

 


Her acting debut came in the 1968 with the movie ‘Sapno Ke Saudagar'. For Hema, there was no looking back here onwards. She delivered a number of  blockbusters that included films like  Dreamgirl, Seeta aur Geeta,  Raja Jani, Sholay, Kinara, Kranti, Naseeb, Satte Pe Satta etc

Over a span of 40 years, Hema acted in over 150 films and was nominated 11 times for Filmfare Best Actress Award.


Some of her extraordinary performances were delivered with her co-stars Dharmendra and Rajesh Khanna.


While shooting for Bollywood superhit Sholay, Hema Malini fell in love with his co-star Dharmendra as they both  shared a vibrant chemistry.
