Goa CM Parrikar rejects Tejpal charge of political witchhunt

Panaji (Goa): Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar today rejected the charge levelled by embattled Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal that the BJP government is engaged in political witchhunt against him. Addressing a press conference, Parrikar said,

Parrikar said, It was Tejpal who himself resigned from his post. 'Then how does BJP comes into the picture. Does Tejpal accept that he is pro-Congress?"

The chief minister said, the previous Congress government had given Rs 45 lakhs for the THINK festival, while his government has given Rs 3 lakhs.

"I have told the Goa police, my job is to ensure justice is given to the woman. Prima facie, the crime did take place", said Parrikar.
