New Delhi, March 8: The Congress should work in such a way that no leader who follows rules should feel insecure during ticket distribution, party vice president Rahul Gandhi said Thursday while interacting with MPs from poll-bound Rajasthan.

According to party sources, Gandhi was responding to concerns expressed by the party MPs during an interaction here. He said that if the leaders work as per democratic norms, there would be no need for them to feel insecure as their contribution would be noticed and suitably rewarded during ticket distribution.

Gandhi also told the MPs to strengthen the party infrastructure down to the booth-level in Rajasthan which will have assembly polls this year.

According to sources, union minister C.P. Joshi stressed the need for increasing the party's vote share to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

This was part of the series of meetings Gandhi has been holding with MPs from different states in the run-up to assembly polls later this year in a number of states and the Lok Sabha polls in 2014.
