New Delhi: A fresh confrontation erupted between the Delhi government and Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) over conversion of industrial plots from leasehold to freehold.
ACB chief MK Meena has ordered an inquiry against senior bureaucrat CB Sanghi for allegedly allowing conversion of industrial plots from leasehold to freehold when he was CMD of the Delhi State Industrial And Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) Limited in 2011-12.
The latest move came after the ACB received a complaint of alleged irregularity against senior Sanghi, who holds the charge of Principal Secretary, Vigilance, following which the investigation was ordered by Meena.
Complainant Vivek Garg, also an RTI activist, in his complaint questioned why no permission was taken from the DDA or the Lt-Governor.
“While Sanghi was the CMD of DSIIDC in 2011-12, conversion of industrial plots to freehold was allowed. No permission was taken from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) or the Lt- Governor, which is mandatory,” Meena said.
The AAP government, however, said that all rules were followed to convert the plots from leasehold to freehold and that after receiving LG's nod.
For now, Shakuntala Gamlin, the principal secretary in the Delhi Government has written to the LG accusing Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain of pressurizing her to submit a note that says conversion of industrial plots was done from leasehold to freehold.
