New Delhi, Jan 12: Former Tripura Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Barman, his son and PCC head Sudip Roy Barman and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ratan Lal Nath figure in the Congress list of candidates for the upcoming polls announced today.
Samir Ranjan Barman will contest from Bishalgarh constituency while his son Sudip Roy Barman will be in the fray from Agartala. Ratan Lal Nath is contesting from the Mohanpur seat.
Deputy Speaker in the Assembly Gouri Shankar Reang will fight the elections from Shantibazar seat reserved for the Scheduled Caste.
Congress declared candidates for 48 seats out of the total 60.
Former PCC Chief Gopal Chandra Roy will contest from Banamalipur, former minister Billal Mia from Boxanagar and former PCC General Secretary Subal Bhowmik from Sonamura.
Senior Congress leader Ratan Chakraborty will fight from Khayerpur while Surajit Datta will be contesting from Ramnagar.
Polling in Tripura will be held on February 14. Counting and declaration of results will take place on February 28.
