Nirmala Sitharaman: MA, MPhil in International Studies, PhD
Nirmala Sitharaman is presently Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Commerce & Industry, as well as a Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs which fall under the Ministry of Finance headed by Arun Jaitley.
Before joining the Modi cabinet, Nirmala was a national spokesperson for Bharatiya Janata Party.
Nirmala was born on August 18, 1959 in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. She graduated from the prestigious Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchirapalli in 1980.
Nirmala completed her M. Phil in International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Nirmala Sitharaman has worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers as a Senior Manager and for BBC World Service.
She is one of the founding directors of Pranava school in Hyderabad. She is a former member of the National Commission for Women.
