New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is heading towards a comfortable win in the Delhi Assembly polls, today said that the result will bring a wave of change in the national politics.
"Today's result will change the politics of Delhi and the country," AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadha said.
“This will be a victory of honesty and defeat of opportunists,” Chadha said in an apparent reference to BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi.
The counting of votes to elect new 70-member Delhi Assembly is underway at 14 centres in nine districts of the national capital.
AAP is leading on 45 seats while BJP was a distant second with leads in 12 seats. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for the counting of votes.
A voter turnout of 67.08 percent was recorded in February 7 polling.
