New Delhi: Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) last week, is slated to kick start her campaign for the upcoming assembly polls in Delhi with a roadshow.

The roadshow will begin at 5 pm from Rohini Sector 7.

This will be her first election campaign after she joined the saffron outfit on Thursday. The roadshow was organically planned for yesterday but it was postponed till today due to denial of permission by police.

Sources said that, Bedi, who yesterday met Delhi BJP leaders over tea, is likely to hold at least seven rallies, one in each parliamentary constituency.

The party has not declared any name for the chief minister's post, but reports are doing the rounds that if BJP voted to power, the former top cop would assume the office of the CM.

The BJP poll panel, schedule to meet later in the day, may appoint Kiran Bedi as the head the party's campaign in the national capital.

Meanwhile, the party is also hunting for a ‘safe seat' for Bedi from where she can win comfortably. Bedi has reportedly expressed her desire to fight from Malviya Nagar constituency in south Delhi.

The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7, with the counting of votes set to take place on February 10.
