New Delhi, Apr 9: There were fireworks outside the normally cool environs of Delhi's Yojana Bhavan this afternoon, when some activists of CPI-M's student wing Students Federation of India pushed and jostled West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra shouting slogans over the death of SFI activist Sudipta Gupta in Kolkata.
A furious chief minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the media at Yojana Bhavan soon after when she arrived there for the meeting with Planning Commission deputy chairperson Montek Singh Ahluwalia.
"We have not come here to beg in Delhi. This is petty politics. Where was the security? You have created a new precedent?", shouted Mamata Banerjee, as Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Minister of State Rajiv Shukla watched silently.
She alongwith Amit Mitra and other West Bengal officials entered the conference room and later cooled down.
Female SFI activists had caught hold of Amit Mitra's hands, and was pushed and jostled, even as other activists shouted slogans protesting the death of Sudipta Gupta in Kolkata.
