Indore: Senior BJP leader L K Advani today said that Congress will suffer badly in the coming Lok Sabha elections because of the Centre's wrongdoings, inflation and corruption.
“I have witnessed all the elections since 1952 in the independent India. The kind of drubbing that Congress suffered in the recent Assembly polls in four states never happened before, and the main reason behind this rout is inflation and corruption,” the senior BJP leader told reporters after taking part in the International Sindhi Conference here.
“The voters of the country never spare those who indulge in wrongdoings. In the coming Lok Sabha polls also Congress will meet the same fate as in the recent Assembly elections,” he said.
He recalled that during the Emergency, censorship was imposed on media and other sections of the society.
“After Emergency in 1977, when Lok Sabha polls were held, Congress lost badly and in the northern India's many states it did not win even a single seat,” he recalled.
Advani alleged that even today people were parking black money in foreign banks.
