New Delhi: Alleging that the BJP government has “failed on all fronts”, scores of Congress workers led by Delhi Pradesh Congress Commitee (DPCC) chief Arvinder Singh held a protest near Jama Masjid area here today.

Shouting slogans against the government, the demonstrators voiced their ire against the rising prices of essential commodities, and the worsening power situation in Delhi.

Addressing the workers, Singh claimed that power cuts were being deliberately effected in the minority-dominated areas during the Ramzan month.

“People are now fondly remembering the Congress rule in Delhi when they used to get uninterrupted supply for 24 hours, and Delhi had witnessed all-round development,” he said.

“It is surprising that despite the government's assurances, the prices of onion and tomato have risen sky-high, and the power supply going off for hours together has become a common feature,” Congress leader Haroon Yusuf said.

DPCC spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said they would protest tomorrow in front of the Delhi Jal Board Office.
