New Delhi: Congress today took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi following reports that parts of the 182-metre tall 'Statue of Unity' would be built in China.
"I don't think Sardar Patel would like that Make-in-India definition of Modi-ji is converted into Made-in-China definition of Sardar Patel's statue," Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters.
He said the fact that India does not have the capability of making and manufacturing this grand symbol for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was itself a question which the Prime Minister and his subordinates in Gujarat must answer.
According to media reports, the 182-metre tall 'Statue of Unity', a pet project of the Prime Minister to salute Sardar Patel, is being smelted and cast into existence in China.
