New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar today likened Congress to mythical ‘Bhasmasur' and claimed that AAP was going to lose as the party had been touched by the ‘demon' before the elections. “Congress is basically a Bhasmasur. When AAP joined hands with Congress in the last elections, its government was over in 49-days. This time, they are not even going to win because they have joined hands before the elections,” he said addressing a rally at Mehrauli.
The Haryana Chief Minister also promised the assistance of Haryana government in ending the water woes of the people of the area.
BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain, who was also canvassing for votes, targeted AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly swearing on his children of not taking the support of Congress and then forming the government with its support. “Any person belonging to any religion or caste will swear on any issue but won't swear falsely on his children,” he said.
He went on to draw parallels between AAP and “Naxals in Bihar”.
“They (AAP) are just anarchists like the Naxals in Bihar. Just like the Naxals roam in a jungle, they are roaming in the city,” Hussain said.
Seeking to woo the minority community, the senior BJP leader also urged people to listen only to words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party President Amit Shah. “During Lok Sabha campaign, there were rumours that if Modi comes to power Muslims will have a tough time but nothing like this happened,” he said.
Later, at a rally in Janakpuri, state BJP leader Jagdish Mukhi promised “full statehood” to Delhi.
