Alappuzha: A complaint was today lodged in a police station in the district seeking action against
Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi for jumping atop a police vehicle during his visit to Kerala.
Police, however, said no case had been registered on the basis of the complaint as prima facie it did not involve violation of rules or breach of security.
The complainant, Mujib Rahman, a local NCP leader, alleged Gandhi's action amounted to violation of Section 123 of the Motor Vehicle Act and wanted police to initiate action against the Congress leader.
Rahman also alleged Gandhi also misused the police vehicle and caused inconvenience to the public by causing traffic congestion.
The complaint was given to the Nooranad police station in Alappuzha district. Gandhi was in Nooranad yesterday to join a padyatra of Youth Congress.
