Indore: Senior CPM leader Mohammad Salim today said the Centre showed a little haste in awarding Bharat Ratna to master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
However, the issue should not be dragged into the political arena, he stressed.
“As far as the announcement made by the government to give Bharat Ratna to Tendulkar is concerned, there has been a little bit of hurriedness. But, such honours should not be dragged into the field of politics,” Salim told reporters here.
To a question, he said BJP's Prime Ministerial nominee Narendra Modi would not be able to lead a political alliance as he has no experience of it.
“There is an atmosphere of fear in the country because of Modi,” he said. Salim said his party has fielded eight candidates for the November 25 Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh.
