New Delhi:  Welcoming the Calcutta High Court's verdict on the issue of BJP chief Amit Shah's rally in Kolkata, the party today accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of acting out of vendatta and frustration and said it will initiate the start of the end of “undemocratic” rule in the state.

Welcoming the Court's directive to Kolkata Municipal Corporation and the police for cooperating with the party in holding Shah's rally in the city on November 30, BJP said it was unfortunate that the Trinamool Congress government was not granting permission for holding the rally.

“It is a historic judgement since it paves the way for equality to be maintained by local administrations for all political parties and not to be influenced by their political masters.

“The court's observation that it's for the first time a political party after complying with the law has come to us and they should be given leeway signfies that BJP had heard to the law and still was being denied permission. It is a rap on the anarchist style of Mamata Banerjee's governace, BJP secretary Siddharth Nath Singh said.

He said Shah's rally will celebrate Vijay Diwas along with Uthan Diwas on November 30. “BJP has been making efforts since July 22 to hold a rally in Kolkata but it is unfortunate that the TMC regime is not allowing so. It is undemocratic on the part of Mamata Banerjee not to allow it as she is scared that BJP will expose its misgovernance and undemocratic rule,” another BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma said.

He said Amit Shah will “expose” the intentions of Banerjee and her government's “misgovernance and undemocratic rule.” “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the brand ambassador of development and good governance and Mamata Banerjee fears from the strength of BJP that will expose her bad governance.

“BJP chief Amit Shah will highlight to the people of West Bengal how Mamata Banerjee pretends to be pro-poor whereas it is protecting those accused of usurping the poor people's money in Saradha chit fund scam and those accused in the Burdwan blast cases,” Sharma said.

He claimed Shah's rally will “herald the start of the end” of Banerjee government in West Bengal and “usher in a new era of development led by BJP in the state.”
