New Delhi: The Delhi BJP today slammed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for raising the issue of Shakuntala Gamlin's appointment as acting Chief Secretary at a rally of auto rickshaw drivers here.

Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay alleged that Kejriwal was a “self obsessed anarchist” who has “no respect for any kind of institution”.

“One fails to understand the mindset of Arvind Kejriwal as no Chief Minister can be expected to stoop so low as to raise constitutional issues at a party rally and condemned constitutional authorities and decisions there,” he said.

“Tracking the way Kejriwal has been working for last three months all we can say is that he is a self obsessed anarchist by nature who has no respect for any kind of institution,” Upadhyay said.

Kejriwal has accused Gamlin, who was appointed as acting Chief Secretary by Lt Governor, of favouring power companies and said she wanted to trick the government into signing document which would give Rs 11,000 crore to power companies.
The CM said that despite government's protest, Gamlin was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Delhi.

Yesterday, Power Minister Satyendra Jain's May 5 letter to Kejriwal had emerged in which he accused Gamlin of lobbying within the government to promote the “interest of Reliance owned power companies” and urged him to relieve her of the charge of Principal Secretary (Power).

On the issue of Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia alleging that BJP is trying to rule through the LG or pull down their government, Upadhyay said the two are saying this as “they know that people of Delhi as also AAP MLAs are getting frustrated and want this Government to either work or go.”
