Patna: The BJP today said it may move court seeking cancellation of RJD chief Lalu Prasad's bail as he was doing politics in violation of his bail terms.
"BJP is mulling over moving to court to seek the cancellation of bail granted to the RJD supremo as he is doing politics in breach of his bail conditions," senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said in a statement.
It is for the first time that a senior BJP leader has spoken out on taking legal steps for cancellation of the RJD supremo's bail.
The BJP leadership was apparently miffed with Prasad for his consistent demand for release of the caste data under the Socio-Economic Caste Census with an eye on consolidation of the Other Backward Castes (OBCs) vote bank, a powerful social group that the saffron party too has been wooing to pip the secular alliance to post at the hustings in Bihar.
Prasad was granted bail by the Supreme Court in December 2013, a couple of months after he was convicted in the multi-crore fodder scam case and sentenced to five years imprisonment, besides Rs 25 lakh fine by a special CBI court in Jharkhand.
