Mumbai, Aug 12: BJP leaders in Mumbai today met the Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan and demanded removal of Home Minister R R Patil and Mumbai police commissioner for Saturday's violence at Azad Maidan.
The BJP delegation led by state party chief Sudhir Mungantiwar and Vinod Tawade told the chief minister that Saturday's violent incidents has affected the morale of police and the Mumbai police commissioner should be removed.
The delegation pointed out that R R Patil's hold on the Home department was becoming weaker, and the serial blasts in Pune and Mumbai violence were indicative of this.
