Lucknow: After BJP's historic win in assembly polls in Haryana and Maharashtra, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Monday said that focus now would be on Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
"Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal are our focus states," Rudy told reporters in reply to a question whether the cabinet expansion has been done keeping in mind the upcoming assembly elections in these states.
Bihar will go to polls next year while West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh will head for elections in 2016 and 2017 respectively. On his portfolio of skill development, Rudy said that it was a greenfield ministry and an ambitious project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It is a large reform of the prime minister which will change the face of India, Rudy said, adding, a new setup has to be placed as so far skill development was spread over 14 different ministries.
