New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday announced a list of 242 candidates of the ‘grand alliance' comprising JD(U), RJD and Congress for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.

"We took our time to decide the candidates and have tried to ensure representation of all sections of the society," Kumar said.

"There are no complaints within the 'grand alliance'. Everybody, including Lalu ji, agreed I should announce the list of the candidates," he added.

Today is also the last day for filing nominations for the first phase of assembly elections.

Kumar said that the remaining one name will be announced later and added, “There are no complaints within the alliance. We want to make it clear that development is our biggest slogan for the polls.”

Kumar further lambasted RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's comment on reservation issue saying ‘it clearly shows that he thinks that present status of the reservation policy is not right'.

"RSS chief's remark is dangerous and can't be accepted. BJP is nothing but a political unit of the RSS. RSS is like Supreme Court for BJP," he said.

Bhagwat had on Sunday reportedly pitched for a review of the reservation policy, contending it had been used for political ends and suggested setting up a committee to examine who needs the facility and till when.
