New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today claimed there was a “BJP wave” in Delhi and the party will form the next government here, and there will be a better coordination with the Central government if the national capital was also ruled by the BJP.
He was addressing a meeting of farmers in Barwala area of north west Delhi.
“There is a BJP wave in Delhi and I am confident that our party will form the next government here,” he said. Singh said BJP has formed government at the Centre, it has formed government in Maharashtra and Haryana and a party government in Delhi is not far away. The Home Minister said till the villages in the country are developed, India will not progress so it was utmost important to develop country's rural areas.
“There is no scarcity of resources. What is lacking is commitment to work for the welfare of people,” he said. Singh said the ongoing ‘Kisan Bima Yojana' is an ambitious welfare scheme for the farmers and the newly launched ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana' is also aimed at covering the poor and rural population. “Till we launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, only 40 per cent people in the country had bank accounts. Now 90 per cent people in the country have a bank account,” he said.
BJP MPs Vijay Goel, Parvesh Varma and Udit Raj were also present in the meeting.
