Mumbai, Aug 7: Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray today lashed out at senior BJP leader L K Advani saying that the leaders of NDA (National Democratic Alliance) will decide who will be Prime Minister after the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
Writing in his party organ Saamna, Thackeray said, " BJP is right now riven with dissensions, but what Advani has written relates to the NDA's future.
"Advani has kicked NDA's backside by saying no leader from the BJP or the Congress is going to become PM in 2014, and a person like Deve Gowda, Charan Singh or I K Gujaral could become PM.
"Advani is a senior and wellknown leader of BJP. Barring some exceptions, the current crop of BJP leaders are pygmies in front of him, but what Advani has commented has demoralized these pygmies too.
"Nowadays a new system like blog writing has become the fashion, and several leaders spend their spare time playing politics by writing on blogs. They sometimes throw darts at somebody, mollycoddle somebody else and sometimes nudge others ... This does not increase the itensity of their ideological thoughts nor can they undertake long political flights.
"We play down-to-earth politics. ...There is tremendous anger and frustration among the people towards the Congress right now, and the end of this party in 2014 due to popular anger is certain. On a national level, the situation is unstable. The entire nation is sitting on the ebb of a whirlpool of anarchy, and it is in such circumstances that the NDA has to give a direction to the nation.
"But if the commander of NDA says we don't have a chance in 2014, then whom should the people look forward to? At a time, when war bugles are being blown on the political landscape and the army is being readied, if the commander says 'there's no scope of victory', the morale of the army will go down.
"There is still time to decide what and how to do in 2014. There is no need to dash the hopes of fighters by making pessimistic predictions. Congress' defeat is certain and the Bharatiya Janata Party will emerge as the single largest party in 2014. After the polls, a prime minister from the BJP or NDA will emerge with support from other allies.
"The fight between Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar is for the throne of Delhi. Who will sit on that throne, will be decided at that point of time, but the Prime Minister will be from the NDA. Who that person will be, we will sit together at that time and decide.
"It's our foremost duty to bury the 'bhasmasur'(devil) of Congress. Modi has aspirations to become PM. Similarly, something on those lines may be in the mind of Nitish Kumar. That's why there's fire between the two and sparks are flying. A senior like Advani, instead of dousing this fire, is pouring kerosene into the 'mashal'.
" If the equation sets right, Advani's wish to become PM can also come true. Advani himself has been a strong claimant for the PM post for the last several years. It's the wish of almost all regional parties to bury the Congress once and for all.
"'Shiv Sena, Shiromani Akali Dal and Janata Dal-United will stay together. Apart from them, Naveen Patnaik, Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Babu's NCP, DMK will lose no time in yoking their horses to the NDA chariot. If the NDA holds on to its sword firmly, then our victory is certain.
"Advani has himself written that CBI is presently the foremost ally of the Congress in keeping its allies in check. If you know this truth, you can very well understand, we can also play the same game in the national interest, which the Congress has been playing. ..Don't lose courage or patience. If you lose courage, then spare some time to come to 'Matoshri' and take the required amount of courage from me.
"There is presently unrest inside the Congress party. Because of power compulsions, DMK, Mamata, Mulayam, Mayawati are supporting Congress. In Maharashtra, the fight between the Congress and NCP continues.
The dhoti of morality worn by Team Anna is now down. To take advantage of this opportunity, if the NDA just moves its limbs, people will flock to our support.
"The convenor of NDA Sharad Yadav should now come forward and add new allies. Yadav doesn't know a thing about blogs, and he is one of those who plays political wrestling in the mud.
"The wrestling bout is announced. The verdict is going to come soon, and observers have begun flocking. In such a circumstance, if the wrestler without fighting the bout admits his defeat, what can we say?
We are past masters at freestye wrestling. To defeat the Congress, we can do any sort of maneouvres. We will show this in Maharashtra, and I firmly believe, the saffron flag will fly from the Red Fort in 2014."
