Rampur (UP): UP cabinet minister and senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan today hit out at the BJP and Sangh parivar for what he called "fake conversions" in Agra.
Speaking to mediapersons, Azam Khan said, BJP leaders have failed to bring back black money to India and have also failed in providing jobs to people. "These people are now resorting to stunts like fake conversions to divert people's attention", he added.
Azam Khan pointed out that the poor Muslims who were "converted" to Hinduism were wearing old, dirty clothes, but the caps on their heads were new. "Actually, you have to change hearts before changing anybody's faith", he added.
The SP leader alleged that BJP leaders were at times resorting to statements like "send them to Pakistan", and now carrying out fake conversions.
