New Delhi: In the recent Karnataka Lok Sabha by-polls, Congress offered the ‘Mandya ‘ Lok Sabha seat to none other than the renowned Kannada and Tamil film actress Ramya who is awesomely beautiful and gorgeous. Ramya defeated her JD(S) opponent by a comfortable margin of 67,611 votes. She has also created the record of being the youngest MP in parliament. Before Ramya, this record was held by Agatha sangama who is around 2 years elder to Ramya. Ramya was born on 29 November 1982 in Bangalore. Her foster father is R. T. Narayan and her mother is Ranjitha . Ramya made her acting debut in the 2003 Kannada-language film ‘Abhi', alongside Puneet Rajkumar, which turned out to be a big hit. In 2003, Ramya had another release in Kannada with ‘Excuse Me'. This film also became a big hit and catapulted Ramya into the top league of Kannada stars. In 2004, Ramya debuted in the Tamil film industry with the film ‘Kuththu' alongside Silambarasan Rajendar. In 2006 she starred in Julie, a remake of the same-titled 1975 Hindi-language film. Ramya was so popular in Kannada film industry that she was referred to as the ‘Golden Girl of Kannada cinema' and 'Sandalwood Queen'. Ramya won Filmfare Best Actress Award twice for her roles in Thananam Thananam (2006) and Sanju Weds Geetha (2011) films. She has also launched her clothing line 'Spandana'.
