New Delhi: The wife of Uttar Pradesh chief minister, daughter-in-law of party supremo, we may know her by these descriptions, but what one must not ignore is Dimple Yadav's powerful leading lady image which she has created for herself.It would have been very trouble-free for the daughter-in-law of the ruling political family of Uttar Pradesh to sit back and lead a cozy life as a homemaker but what was remarkable in Dimple's life was her unwillingness to let her individuality weaken.The 35-year old Dimple Yadav hailed from an army background and was brought up in different places like Bhatinda, Lucknow and Andaman and Nicobar islands. She has a hunger for books and is a brilliant painter.Her life was going smooth and usual only till late 1990s when she met Akhilesh, the man of her dreams. Akhilesh, who was studying engineering, was struck by Dimple's beauty and simplicity.Little had Dimple known that her life was going to take a 360 degree turn. Dimple and Akhilesh tied the knot at the onset of winter in November, 1999. Ever since then, Dimple not only took over Akhlesh's personal matters but also took charge of his official affairs. She rigorously campaigned for Akhilesh in the 2012 assembly elections. Her efforts behind Akhilesh's every election rally were so unmistakable that the credit for Akhilesh's victory was to a very high extent put into Dimple's account.It does not end here. What makes her image even more mighty and strong is her run for elections in the year 2009. Coming from a non-political background, politics was not Dimple's cup of tea, yet her zeal to contest elections wass commendable.Although she lost the 2009 elections from Firozabad in the face of actor turned politician Raj Babbar, she never gave up on politics. The Firozabad seat was won by her husband the same year in the general elections. Akhilesh contested elections and won two seats, Firozabad and Kannauj leading to his evacuation of Kannauj seat.In the 2012 by-poll elections, Dimple won the Kannauj seat unopposed making her the first female candidate to be elected unopposed in Lok Sabha by-poll elections from Uttar Pradesh.
