Guwahati, May 30: Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi today announced the portfolios of the new council of ministers keeping Home and Finance among other departments with him.
His other departments are Personnel, Guwahati Development, General Administration, Secretariat Administration, Election, Passport, Information Technology, Science & Technology and any other department which was not allotted.
Other ministers and their portfolios include Prithibi Majhi (Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Tea Tribes Welfare, Labour and Employment), Tanka Bahadur Rai (Planning and Development, Judicial, Legislative, Pension & Public Grievance) and Gautam Roy (Public Health and Engineering department.) Ajanta Neog (PWD -Roads & Buildings, NH, Urban Development and Housing), Dr Ardhendu Dey (Irrigation & Soil Conservation), Akon Bora (Social Welfare and Jails).
Chandan Brahma (Transport, Tourism, Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Castes (BTAD areas), Himanta Biswa Sarma (Health & Family Welfare, Education and Implementation of Assam Accord).
Khor Sing Engti was allotted Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Mines & Minerals, Hill Areas development while Dr Nazrul Islam retained Food & Civil Supplies and was given the additional charge of Welfare of Minorities and Haj.
New cabinet entrant Nilomoni Sen Deka was allotted Agriculture, Horticulture & Food Processing and Parliamentary Affairs.
Pradyut Bordoloi retained Industries & Commerce, Power, Public Enterprises.
Former Deputy Speaker Pranati Phukan was allotted Handloom & Textiles, Sericulture, Cultural Affairs while Rockybul Hussain Panchayat & Rural Development,Environment and Forest.
The ministers of state with independent charge Ajit Singh was allotted Excise, Sports & Youth Welfare, Basanta Das Fisheries, Information & Public Relations, Printing & Stationery, Rajib Lochan Pegu Water Resources, WPT & BC (excluding BTAD areas) and Siddeque Ahmed Cooperation and Border Areas Development.
