On February 28, Bonti succumbed to her injuries. Local residents said, Bonti came home between 8-9 pm and that the husband and wife did have a scuffle but it was normal in nature.
It may be mentioned that it was in Rahul Gandhi's meet in Jorhat that a couple of ladies in the gallery managed to come close to the leader and land a couple of kisses on his cheek.
Some say that Bonti was one of the ladies, but no confirmation has been made by police on this fact.
Police meanwhile is investigating the bizarre incident.
