”We have strong faith in the self-regulatory institutions that electronic media has developed and would request any aggrieved person to approach them with specific complaints and evidence.
Vague and sweeping allegations is a sign of weakness,” the statement released in the name of BEA President Shazi Zaman and General Secretary N K Singh said.
The BEA has amongst its members editors of various leading news-channels.
Earlier triggering a fresh controversy, Mr Kejriwal had in a video aired by a news-channel alleged that the whole media is “sold” and “heavy amounts” have been paid to promote BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi.
He later denied having made the accusations against the media after his remarks came under attack from various quarters.
