Kejriwal promises to halve power bills in Delhi, provide 700 litres water daily free

Kaushambi:  Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and party's  chief ministerial candidate Arvind Kejriwal is fast emerging as a force to reckon with in upcoming Delhi assembly elections, if various pre-poll surveys are to be believed.

Q:  Coming to upcoming Delhi assembly elections, you have said that you'll contest from the same constituency from where Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit will contest. What if she decided not to contest? Will you also not contest?

Kejriwal:
This is a hypothetical question. Let her make a statement first as to whether she will contest, not contest or will contest from multiple constituencies.

Q:  BJP says that you'll only cut into anti-Congress votes and ultimately Congress will benefit from division of anti-Congress votes. How would you react to this?

Kejriwal: See, BJP has been losing assembly elections in Delhi for the last 15 years. I want to ask BJP why they lost when there was no Aam Aadmi Party in the fray?  The reality is that the BJP is totally incapable of defeating Sheila Dikshit in Delhi. We'll definitely cut into votes of both Congress and BJP. Many surveys have revealed that in November Aam Aadmi Party will form the government in Delhi with overwhelming majority. The survey results have made these parties desperate and now they can stoop to any level. For example, our Seemapuri candidate Santosh Koli recently met with an accident. But this was not a simple accident and I am very sure that either of these two parties is responsible for this attack on her life. Santosh is unconscious for last 15 days. Police has lodged an FIR under section 307. It means even police acknowledges the fact that it was an attempt on her life.

Q:  You always talk about probity in public life. You are going to fight Delhi assembly elections this time and everybody knows that every single constituency requires crores of rupees from one candidate. From where will the funds come? How would you manage it?

Kejriwal:  This time, we'll contest elections with honesty. Word has been spread that elections are meant for goondas only and that you have to spend crores of rupees for fighting elections but it's not true.  If you have not done any work in your constituency and people don't know you,  only then you need to spend crores of rupees. If you want to distribute alcohol or if you have no volunteers then you need to spend crores of rupees. EC has set a ceiling of Rs 14 lakh for every constituency and we'll not spend more than the prescribed limit. And we'll get funds from the common man and we are already getting funds. In Delhi today, 7000 boys and girls have left their jobs and occupation and are working for us. They don't love Arvind Kejariwal or AAP. They are working because they believe India will change this time. History is witness to the fact that whenever there is a war between passion and money, passion has won. We have got the passion and our opponents have got money. This time again, passion will win over money.
