New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley underwent a planned elective laparoscopic procedure for diabetes management under Dr Pradeep Chaube at Max Hospital today. The procedure has been successful.
Arun Jaitley is currently an important member of Narendra Modi's council of ministers. He is handling two crucial ministries – Finance and Defence.
Arun Jaitley is considered to be very close to Prime Minister Modi. It was Jaitley who pitched for Modi's projection as PM candidate of BJP before 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
He had contested parliamentary elections from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat but lost to Captain Amarinder Singh of Congress.
Despite his defeat, Narendra Modi entrusted him with two crucial portfolios and today he is consulted by PM on all crucial policy decision matters.
