Continuing his tirade against his former mentor Mulayam Singh Yadav, ousted Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Sunday  said he would try to ensure the SP supremo never becomes the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister again. He would also strive hard to keep the SP away from power in Uttar Pradesh, Amar Singh told a meeting, organised by the Bhartiya Samaj Party, here.

"I will not allow the SP supremo to become the UP CM again and to keep the SP away from power in the state, I will try to forge an alliance of political parties," he said.

Pitching for a Poorvanchal state, the creation of which was opposed by the SP, the expelled leader said he was ready to sacrifice his life for the cause. He said Mulayam and his son Akhilesh were against the formation of Poorvanchal state.

"I will fight for creation of a separate Poorvanchal state to be carved out of Uttar Pradesh and if the cause requires my life I am ready to sacrifice my life." Amar Singh said a person from a minority community would be the first Chief Minister of the new state. PTI
