New Delhi, Sep 23: Former SP heavyweight Amar Singh signaled a change in his approach towards Mulayam Singh Yadav when he praised Mulayam for extending support to Manmohan Singh led UPA govt at a crucial juncture. Amar Singh's warm statement sparked speculation over his possible re-entry into Samajwadi party.
“Mulayam Singh has shown the political maturity by extending support to UPA government. I appreciate and welcome his decision.It is a good decision and Mulayan has given the proof of his wisdom,” said Amar Singh on Saturday.
According to reliable sources, Amar Singh is in touch with several SP leaders and is making attempts for a rapprochement with his estranged Netaji.
Amar Singh had expected Samajwadi Party to perform badly in assembly election but SP under the leadership of father-son duo pulled off spectacular victory and dethroned Mayawati government in UP.
After SP managed to make a comeback in UP, several leaders including Amar Singh and Beni Prasad Verma have gone soft on Mulayam Singh and it has set the tongues wagging over their possible re-entry into their parent political party.
But in Amar Singh's way, Ramgopal Yadav is the biggest bottleneck as he is reportedly not in favour of Amar Singh's homecoming.
