New Delhi: RLD leader Ajit Singh said that he would surrender his government bungalow by Sep 24 and shift to a three-bedroom house in south Delhi.
"There is a lot to do when you are shifting house. Most of the luggage has been shifted and I will hand over the official house by Sep 23-24 as by then 'Pitr Paksh' will be over," the former civil aviation minister told IANS.
The period of 'Pitr Paksh' is considered inauspicious in Hindu religion.
"I will shift to a house in Vasant Kunj. It is a three bedroom house," he added.
Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) workers are demanding that Ajit Singh's bungalow be declared the Chaudhary Charan Singh Memorial Centre, to commemorate his father, who briefly served as prime minister, like the official residences of late prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, as well as veteran politician Jagjivan Ram.
