New Delhi, July 13:After his party NCP, it was the turn of Congress to attack BJP-backed opposition candidate P A Sangma accusing him of not observing decency and decorum in the Presidential campaign.
Condemning Sangma's remarks, Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi said there can be nothing “more derogatory than making Raisina Hill dumping ground” remark for the President House.
“The language which the Opposition nominee for the Presidential election is using is unfortunate,” he said.
Alvi said while everybody is free to contest elections irrespective of what will be the result, “using such language is unfortunate not only for a particular person but even for the post for which elections are being held”.
He also reminded Sangma that the person who is elected to the top Constitutional post has to maintain the dignity of the office for which the election is being held.
NCP General Secretary D P Tripathi had said yesterday “it is very unfortunate that P A Sangma is not observing decency, decorum and dignity in the Presidential elections”.
