Riots take place wherever minorities are more than 10%: Yogi Adityanath in 'Aap Ki Adalat'

New Delhi: Firebrand BJP leader Yogi Adityanath has attacked the minority community, saying riots happen wherever they are more than 10 percent in numbers while there is no place for non-Muslims where they are more than 35 percent.
Replying to queries from Rajat Sharma in the show Aap Ki Adalat, the BJP MP said, “In places where there are 10 to 20 percent minorities, stray communal incidents take place. Where there are 20 to 35 percent of them, serious communal riots take place and where they are more than 35 percent, there is no place for non-Muslims.”
Yogi Adityanath, however, said he and his supporters would “conditionally” abide by the Constitution.
“I have said, if you kill one of us, do not expect that you will remain safe. We want you (minorities) not to kill anybody and live peacefully and concentrate on progress...Of course, we are talking about the Constitution, and our viewpoint is conditional. If you (minorities) stay in peace, we will live in peace, if you concentrate on progress, we will help you more for progress”
Asked by Rajat Sharma why he was unwilling to promise not to give such provocative speeches in future, Adityanath said: “Conditionally... if the other side stays in peace, we will be happy to let them stay in peace and contribute to their progress.
If the other side does not stay in peace, we will teach them how to stay in peace. We will teach them in the language that they understand.... Some people are replying to us in that language, and we are also responding in a similar fashion.”
The BJP MP is in the midst of a controversy after two old CDs of his provocative speeches surfaced recently. One of these videos is dated January 27, 2007, when, while addressing a meeting in Gorakhpur, Adityanath had said, “if one Hindu is killed, we will not go to file FIR, but ensure the killings of 10 others”.
Yogi Adityanath said: “ Whatever I had then said was conditional. If the other person is a daanav (devil), not a maanav (human being), then one has to reply. If I have a maala (strong of beads) in one hand, I also carry a bhaala (spear) in the other”.
The BJP MP claimed that he had carried out what he called “paravartan” (homecoming) of 1,800 Christians to Hinduism in UP's Etah district. “You cannot call this forced conversion. It is paravartan (homecoming).
“If a Hindu becomes a Muslim or a Christian, it is conversion, but if a Muslim or a Christian returns to Hinduism, then it is homecoming. We should all support such homecomings, because the person is then getting his national identity”, said the firebrand MP.
On Love Jihad controversy, Yogi Adityanath said, “we did not invent this phrase. It was invented in Kerala, when the Kerala High Court expressed concern over conversions. Even the famous Communist leader V S Achyuthanandan had expressed concern at that time.”
“Love Jihad is an international conspiracy against India and its culture. In 2006, the Allahabad High Court had directed the UP government to take action to stop forcible conversion of a large number of girls.
In 2009, the Kerala High Court had also directed the state government saying that nearly 5,000 Hindu girls were converted to Islam within a span of four years. The Karnataka High Court had also directed CID probe into such conversions.
“Had it been an issue of love between two consenting individuals, we have no problem. But not on the basis of cheating, fraud or impersonation. Whatever happened in Ranchi, Meerut and Haryana, in the guise of jehad, is unacceptable to us”, Yogi Adityanath said.
In another controversial remark, the BJP MP claimed that not a single communal riot was engineered by any Hindu in India.
“Let me tell you, where riots take place. There are three categories - In place where there are 10 to 20 pc (minorities), stray communal incidents take place. Where there are 20 to 35 pc (minorities), serious communal riots take place, and where there are more than 35 pc (minorities), there is no place for non-Muslims.
I am not speaking only of India, but of the whole world. This is not my theory, but a fact”.
Adityanath also questioned why “fatehas” (condolence prayers) are held for those Muslims who go and die with the ISIS terrorists.
You say terrorists have no religion, but when those who attacked Ram Janmabhoomi (Babri Masjid), were killed by security forces, fatehas were offered in their memory.
Why weren't their bodies disposed of like the Americans did for Osama bin Laden, by throwing his mortal remains in the seas? If terrorists have no religion, then burn their bodies by pouring kerosene over them.”
