New Delhi: AAP will launch an agitation against the Land Bill in Uttar Pradesh later this month even as beleaguered party leader Yogendra Yadav has started a similar stir in Haryana.
“Will start an agitation for farmers in all districts of Uttar Pradesh from March 23,” tweeted senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh, who is touring the state.
The agitation on the same issue is being undertaken by Singh—a close aide of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal—and Yadav, who was voted out of the party's Political Affairs Committee on March 4 as the party was rocked by an internal dispute.
Meanwhile, as part of his Jai Kisan Abhiyaan in Haryana, Yadav is giving salt packets to Lok Sabha MPs of the state in a reminder that they eat the food produced by farmers and should stand up to defend their rights.
Pointing out a case in Sirsa, where land was acquired for widening a highway, Yadav charged that the compensation given by the Haryana government under the new notification was far too less.
