New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said AAP should have supported BJP to form a government in the city instead of taking the reigns with Congress' backing.
Addressing an election rally at Mustafabad area in North East Delhi, Singh held AAP responsible for “wastage” of public money by “forcing” elections within a year of the previous assembly polls.
Singh said BJP had got the mandate as the party had won maximum number of seats in the assembly polls held in December 2013 and AAP should have extended support to BJP rather than taking support from Congress to form an unstable government. “The money spent on elections is public money and by forcing fresh elections in Delhi within a year, they have created pressure on the exchequer and on the public.
“If you go by morality, the mandate of the public was in favour of BJP. AAP should have extended its support to BJP on the basis of issues. AAP calls itself an honest party and they joined hands with Congress which had increased corruption in the country. They were greedy for power,” Singh said.
Asserting that politics is not everybody's cup of tea, Singh said, “I have a suggestion for them that they should not be making promises which they cannot fulfill.” “Pakistan and China killed our people. We showed them white flag 16 times but they kept on firing, when we retaliated on the 17th time, Pakistan started crying and approached UN for peace,” he said.
“China entered our territory. When I asked our ITBP DG what happened, he replied that they are trying to make roads in our territory. I told him there should not be a single inch of road made by them,” he said.
