Aam Aadmi Party: Know Arvind Kejriwal's new political team

New Delhi, Dec 3: Activist-turned politician Arvind Kejriwal is trying his best to make a mark for his newly formed political party ‘Aam Party Party'. Kejriwal's new political team consists of people from different backgrounds. They are not regular politicians but they claim to have a vision for offering an alternative political system that can eradicate corruption from our society once and forever. Let's have a look at those who constitute the national executive of ‘Aam Aadmi Party':Prashant Bhushan: Prashant Bhushan is a prominent Supreme Court lawyer. Son of another prominent lawyer and former union law minister Shanti Bhushan, Prashant Bhushan was a core team member of erstwhile Team Anna. After the split of Team Anna, Prashant stuck to Arvind Kejriwal and is now an important figure in Kejriwal's new political team. Recently, his father Shanti Bhushan announced to donate Rs 1 crore to the newly formed political party. Manish Sisodiya: Manish Sisodia is a former journalist. He is better known for his association with Zee News. He has been working with Arvind Kejriwal since his RTI movement days. Manish is a part of Kejriwal's ‘Public Cause Research Foundation'.Kumar Vishwash: Kumar is a renowned poet and was a faculty member of Hindi language in a college in Ghaziabad in UP. He has deep interest in national politics and has been expressing his displeasure over the prevailing political system through his poems.Shazia Ilmi: Shazia was an anchor with Star News nad presently she is the Muslim face of Team Kejriwal.Gopal Rai: Gopal Rai was a prominent face of students' politics in Allahabad and Lucknow. He actively participated in many campaigns against politicians with criminal background in UP. He was part of the Kejriwal team that went on fast for ten days at Jantar Mantar in July 2012.Mayank Gandhi: Before joining Arvind Kejriwal's political party, Mayank Gandhi was heading Mumbai unit of IAC.Sanjay Singh: Sanjay Singh comes from Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He caught attention when he started working with Pratap sewa Samiti. As a member of IAC, he was very active in home state i.e. UPYogendra Yadav: Yogendra is a renowned psephologist. He is better known for his association with CSDS (Centre for Society of Developing Societies) and conducting opinion and exit polls for important national and state level elections. Yogendra is a social scientist and has a knack for presenting social realities in right perspective.Professor Anand Kumar: Anand Kumar is a JNU professor. He was also associated with BHU as a professor. He is well known for his expertise in political science and democracy.Ilyas Azmi: A close associate of former PM V P Singh, Ilyas Azami had been two time MP from Hardoi and Lakhimpur Khiri.Ashok Agrawal: Ashok has been helping poor children in government and private schools. He is also known for his relentless work on RTE.Christina Samy: Christina belongs to Tamil Nadu and is better known for her fight against sand mafia. She is the founder of ‘women's front' that contested elections in Tamil Nadu.Dinesh Vaghela: Dinesh Vaghela has been an RTI activist. He participated actively in J P movement.MBN Pannikar: Pannikar is a labour union leader from Odisha and is a founder member of Rourkela labour union.Ajit Jha: A professor in Delhi university, Ajit Jha is an expert on Panchayati Raj. He was associated with an NGO ‘Lok Rajniti Manch' and a political organisation ‘ Samajvadi Jan Parishad.'Pankaj Gupta: An electrics engineer by profession, Pankaj Gupta left his company job to work for the downtrodden. He has been an active member of Kejriwal's team during his Jan Lokpal movement.Rakesh Sinha: A trained engineer, Rakesh Sinha a faculty member at IIT and BHU. He founded the NGO ‘ Samataa Sangathan' in 1980.Naveen Jai Hind: Naveen belongs to Haryana and has worked relentlessly for Lokpal movement in his home state. He has been associated with a student's union called ‘Jai Hind Chhatra Morcha'.Habung Payang: Habung belons to Arunachal Pradesh and is a former information commissioner of the state. He is concentrating in Arunachal and other Northeaster states.Yogesh Dahiya: Yogesh has been raising the voice of sugarcane farmers in western UP. A farmer leader, Dahiya will try to reach out to faring community in UP on behalf of Kejriwal's new political party.Krishkant Saveda: Krishkant belongs to Rajasthan and has campaigned relentlessly for Jan Lokpal movement in the state.
