New Delhi: A day after Aam Aadmi Volunteers Manch (AVAM) accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of dubious funding, donations to the Kejriwal-led party surged by 82 per cent.

According to details uploaded on aaptrends.com, website dedicated to tracking AAP's funding trends, the party received donations worth about Rs 66.2 lakh by 11 am on Tuesday -- up by 82 per cent from Rs 36.3 lakh it had received on Monday. In total, the party yesterday received Rs 79,10,825 as donations.

This is also the highest level of donations in the last 19 days and the 10th highest in 419 days since December 12, 2013 when the party began uploading data on website.

On January 15, the day former top cop Kiran Bedi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), AAP had received Rs 90 lakh. This was the second highest figure received in a day during the ongoing campaign for February 7 polling.

Between January 1 and February 3, 2015, AAP received Rs 11.4 crore, which is more than 400 per cent of the donations that it received in December 2014.

AVAM, a group of volunteers who had broken away from Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP in August last year, has alleged that four donations, worth Rs 50 lakh each, from four ‘dubious companies', were remitted to AAP's account.
