New Delhi: There is a 70% spurt in the RTI applications received by the Prime Minister's Office after Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister.
The RTI response received by activist Commodore (retd) Lokesh Batra said the country's top office received 3069 RTI applications in the first five months this year till May while from June-October the number of applications received by the PMO shot up to 5208 which is an increase of about 70 per cent.
Since the RTI Act was enacted in 2005, the Prime Minister's Office has received 40,128 RTI applications.
