26/11 NSG commando Surender Singh wins Delhi Cantt seat on AAP ticket

New Delhi: Former NSG commando Surender Singh who was severely injured during 26/11 Mumbai attack while flushing out militants from Taj hotel, emerged victorious in political field also as today he won from Delhi Cantt

The 35-year-old commando who was on a deputation from the Army's Grenadiers unit, had joined the rescue operation barely four days after his first child was born.

A day after Ajmal Kasab was hanged, Surender had slammed the government claiming that he was offered only a bulk of his financial benefits.

The ex-commando was discharged from service after a medical board ruled him unfit for service.

Aam Admi Party today made a stunning debut in electoral politics by winning or leading in 28 of the 70 Assembly seats in Delhi and stopping BJP short of a majority in an election that toppled the three-term Congress Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
