Jayalalithaa, actor turned politician, got her step into politics in the year 1982 when she joined AIADMIIK.
She became the youngest-ever chief minister of Tamil Nadu on On 24 June 1991.
Jayalalitha was found guilty in disproportionate assets and corruption case by a trial court back in 2014 and fined her Rs. 100cr but Karnataka high Court overturned the judgement of the trial court and termed it ''not sustainable".
The verdict made Jayalalithaa supporters happy and she was sworn in as chief minister for the fifth time on may 23, 2015.
