Jailed ULFA leader Mithinga Daimary on Monday  said he would discuss the possibility of talks with the government with the recently arrested two top leaders of the banned outfit.

"Since the two leaders are in jail custody, we can discuss the possibility of talks with the government," ULFA's former publicity secretary told reporters at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital where he is currently being treated.

Dismissing the government's claim that the two leaders had surrendered to the BSF in Tripura on November six, he alleged that the outfit's 'foreign secretary' Sashadhar Choudhury and 'finance secretary' Chitraban Hazarika had been handed over to India by the Bangladesh government.

Daimary, arrested during Bhutan operations in 2003, said if the Bangladesh Government could hand over ULFA leaders, then illegal Bangladeshi migrants could also be sent back solving the decades-old illegal immigration problems of Assam. PTI
