Yogi Adityanath government on Tuesday presented its maiden budget in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. The highlight of Rs 3,84,659.71 crore budget for 2017-18 was a special provision of Rs 36,000 crore to honour BJP's poll promise of farm loan waiver through debt redemption. Presenting the budget in the Assembly, Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal said the budget is 10.9 per cent higher than last fiscal's and earmarks Rs 55,781.96 crore for new schemes.
Here are the highlights of the Uttar Pradesh budget for 2017-18 presented in the assembly today:
* Annual budget size Rs 3,84,659.71 cr; higher by 10.9 pc than last fiscal's
* Budget shows a deficit of Rs 7,468.83 crore in the current fiscal
* Total receipts estimated at Rs 3,77,190.88 crore, of which revenue receipts account for Rs 3,19,397.43 crore and capital receipts Rs 57,793.43 crore
* Budget provides Rs 55,781.96 cr for new schemes

* Rs 800 cr for Prasad Yojna in Ayodhya-Mathura-Kashi regions
* Rs 1,240 crore for Ramayan, Buddhist and Krishna circuits in Ayodhaya, Varanasi and Mathura
* Rs 300 cr allocated to distribute socks, shoes and sweaters among school children
* Rs 20 crore for the Industrial Investment & Employment Generation Policy
* Rs 40 cr allocated for abandoned and stray animals under a scheme named Besahara Pashu Yojna
* Ecotourism and adventure tourism to be developed
* Role of farmers to be increased to enhance forest cover
* Rs 25 cr for providing helicopter services at tourist places and Rs 10 cr for development of tourism in Vindhyachal region
* Rs 50 cr provision for WiFi scheme in the state
* Bachpan Divas to be celebrated on 5th of every month and Laadli Divas on 15th and Matratva Divas on 25th of every month
* Rs 25 cr for developing water sports in Ramgarh Taal in Yogi Adityanath's Gorakhpur dictrict
* Rs 200 cr for special schemes for Bundelkhand; Rs 300 cr for special schemes for Poorvanchal
* Rs 71 cr to connect district headquarters with 4-lane roads
* Rs 288 cr for four metros
* Rs 3,972 cr for the upkeep of state roads
* Rs 10 cr for Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Kisan Samriddhi Yojna
* New policy for solar power launched
* New textile policy on the anvil
* Launch of groundwater conservation mission
